Pg. #3: H.C. Lobban, who has been in TX for the past 15 years, came in on Dec 27th, and was accompanied by his brother, J.P. Lobban of Monroe co. Both walked out from the depot to the house of their brother, W.A. Lobban, just north of town and were not recognized by the latter. They were there about 10 minutes before H.C. was recognized. His brother introduced him as a land buyer. When he finally made himself known there was great rejoicing in the family. [Undated copy from the Salisbury Press.]

H.C. Lobban died at the home of his brother, W.A. Lobban of Salisbury, Jan 17th, of pneumonia. He was born in Randolph co, Feb 10, 1857, and went to TX in 1877. On Dec 25th, he arrived in Salisbury to visit his brother here, and was enjoying his visit until he took down with pneumonia five days before his death. At first it was not thought his case would be serious, hence there was no time to write to his wife and four children back in TX in time for them to get here, so after death, remains were shipped back to his home,
Ennis, TX, accompanied by his brother J.P. Lobban of Monroe co. Besides his bereaved family he leavesfour brothers and two sisters. He was the youngest of the family. [Undated copy from the Salisbury Press.]
