He retired after 23 years of employment at Scotts, where he was employed as the plant service operator. He was a faithful and active member of Marysville First United Methodist Church and had been involved with its Men's Group.
He was a 1954 graduate of Marysville High School and had attended The Ohio State University for two years. He was a proud veteran of the US Navy, having spent much of his enlistment in Pensacola, Fla. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 79.
Mr. Amrine was a talented cellist and played in recent years with the Cardinal Health Orchestra and the Front Porch Players. He volunteered with the Community Meals program, found great joy in drawing and was an avid sailor, spending much time on the water at Indian Lake.
He was known as "Uncle John" to many and will be remembered as a master story teller and a wonderful conversationalist. He dearly loved his wife and children and was completely enamored with his infant granddaughter.
He was born May 13, 1935, in Milford Center, to the late Porter and Helen Bushman Amrine. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Amrine.
