Elna M. Metcalf 79, died surrounded by her loving family December 3, 2016. She was born May 25, 1937 in Portland, the daughter of Alphonse and Exerlia Corbin.
Elna was a medical transcriptionist for 31 years at Mercy Hospital.
While she was bringing up her children, her door was always open to the neighborhood children. She was a second mom to them.
Elna loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them at family gatherings, holidays, and birthday parties.
She loved to decorate for all the holidays.
Growing up Elna loved to go to carnivals and harmonize with her friends and her sister Marie.
Some of her favorite things to do was go to shopping with her best friend Charity, read romance novels, dance, and to watch Law & Order and Dancing with the Stars.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son David (Scottie) Metcalf. Brothers Peter and Francis Corbin, sisters Pearl Melanson, Kay Huntington, Lorraine Ruminski, Marie Allen, and Gerrie Powell.
She is survived by her brother Ernie Corbin of MA, and son Barry (Michael) Metcalf, his wife August. Daughters Tina Metcalf, Roberta (Bobbie) Metcalf and her spouse David, Sharon McLeod and her husband Pat. Grandchildren Dale Metcalf and wife Lisa, Riannon Sysko and husband Matt, Rebecca McCraw and husband Thomas, Leroy Adams, Regina Stait and spouse Anthony, Renee and Rose Stait, Alex Metcalf and wife Meg. 12 great grandchildren whom were her world.
She will be missed. A service will be held in the spring.
