Johnny, a resident of Española, was predeceased by his parents Juan I. & Rosabel V. Archuleta; brothers: Gilberto & Joe Quirino (wife Becky); sister Cleseria; son Jerome Archuleta; granddaughter Stephanie Archuleta; and grandson Alfonso Archuleta.

Johnny was survived by his wife of 60 years, Julia Archuleta; children: Henrietta Naranjo, Chris and Cynthia Archuleta, Leonard and Mary Archuleta, Donald and Tina Archuleta, and Bernadette Archuleta; grandchildren: Frances Blea (husband Billy Rivera), Cheri Archuleta, Valerie Martinez (fiancé Sal Mares), Dominic, Andrea, Jeremy Angel, Nichole Archuleta, and Angelica Padilla; great grandchildren: Jezreel Archuleta, Santiago Chávez, Deserae Mares, Dominique Archuleta, Destiny and Robyn Gallegos, Auburn-Sky Rivera, Jayden Vigil, Scarlett Vigil, Alexandra Vigil and Nehemiah Serna; sisters: Elfa Montoya, Gabby Montoya, Yolanda Archuleta (companion Marcus), and Diana Archuleta (companion Pat Coe); brothers: Gilbert, Arthur, and Elmer (Johanna) Archuleta; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Johnny was a United States Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War and was a long-time member of the National Guard. He was a retired transportation engineer with 35 years from Colomex Oil and Gas Transportation. Johnny was known for being a man of exceptional work ethic, a wonderful sense of humor, a loving husband; father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending quality time with his family.

A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial were on 4 Jan 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Española. Burial followed in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers: Dominic Archuleta, John Paul Martinez, Nichole Archuleta, Jeremy Archuleta, Santiago Chávez, Anthony Salazar and Patrick Salazar and Billy Rivera.
