She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Marjorie Tarwater Reed, and sisters, Maxine Nelson and Helen Shockley.

Vickie Mae Reed, age 62 of Sevierville, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at her home.

Vickie was an active member of First Baptist Church of Sevierville where she worked with children in many youth activities such as Vacation Bible School for several years.

She attended Sevier County High School and was proud to have played basketball for 4 years as a Smoky Bearette.

Vickie received her B.A., M. Ed., and Ed.S. from Lincoln Memorial University.

She taught in the Sevier County School System for 37 years at Caton's Chapel Elementary School.

Vickie was admired and respected by all her students, parents, and fellow educators.

She loved and cared for all students and would do anything to help each of them succeed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Marjorie Tarwater Reed, and sisters, Maxine Nelson and Helen Shockley.

Survivors Brother and Sister-n-law: James and Diana Reed; Nieces and Nephews Jennifer Reed Martinez, Steven Reed, Michael Nelson, Grayson Shockley Brothers-in-law Lauren Nelson, Dan Shockley Extended family Lorraine Gibbs, Robbie Sharp, Vicki Butcher Caregivers Shawna Carr, Linda Drinnon

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, Sevierville, Youth Dept., 317 Parkway, Sevierville, TN 37862 or Caton's Chapel Elementary School, 2135 Caton's Chapel Rd., Sevierville, TN 37876.

Funeral service 2 PM Saturday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Mintz officiating and a eulogy delivered by Bill Hatcher.

Interment will follow in Tarwater Cemetery. The family will receive friends 12-2 PM Saturday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
