Jackie Lee Blakey, age 61, of Yankton, South Dakota, died on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Memorial services are 1:00 PM, on December 31, 2016 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend Dani Jo Ninke officiating. Burial will be in the Yankton Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be one hour prior to the memorial service on Saturday.
Jackie was born September 25, 1955 in Yankton, South Dakota to Spencer Blakey Jr. and Leona Johnson. He grew up in Yankton and attended Yankton High School. He worked on the family farm with his grandparents. Later in his life, Jackie lived in Sioux Falls and worked with a concrete company and then spent the last two years living with his brother in Geddes, South Dakota. Jackie loved fishing, playing pool and basketball. He also enjoyed being outdoors and camping. Jackie was so happy being around his family and friends and he always enjoyed visiting with them.
Jackie is survived by his loving family and special friend, Susan Tate of Sioux Falls, SD.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Lee Blakey; and two sisters, Janet Lee Blakey and Linda Ann Blakey.
