He worked in the maintenance department of the Galion Iron Works for 10 years, retiring in 1980. He was a faithful member of the Bucyrus Freewill Baptist Church. He had lived in the area for the past 33 years, having moved from Morehead, Ky., where he farmed. In his younger days he helped to build Morehead State University.
He is survived by his son, and two daughters, Donnie (Cindy) McCleese of Apple Valley, Howard, Bonnie and David Edwards of Galion, Fredia and Ollie Ferrell of Scotsdale, Az.; seven grandchildren, Ginger George, Darcy Hymore, Candy Ferrell, Kathy McGee, Terry Ferrell, Chris McCleese and Heather Thompson; step granddaughter, Missy Atkinson; 17 great grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Frodge of Marysville, and Icie Cooper of Mount Olivet, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his wife on 30 Dec 2004; parents; by his brother Jess, two infant brothers and his sisters, Myrtle Hessler and Elsie Little.
