Ellis "Pud" Townsend Ades, 99, of Leon, passed away on Jan. 3, 2017, in Towanda.
Visitation with family present will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday; funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, both at Carlson Funeral Home, El Dorado. Burial with full military honors will be in Blankenship Cemetery.
Pud was born on Nov. 8, 1917, in Sherman City, Kan., the son of Harley C. and Araminta B. (Robison) Ades. He attended school in Keighly and served his country in the United States Army during World War II in North Africa and Europe. Pud worked for the Butler County Highway Department for many years. He was active at the Leon Senior Center, the Odd Fellows Lodge and really enjoyed dancing. He was a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Genevera Boswell, three brothers and four sisters.
Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
