Betty A. Hicks, 89, of Rushville, PA passed away, Monday, January 2, 2017 at Meadow View Senior Living Center, Montrose, PA. Born February 1, 1927 in Stevensville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Blanche [Robinson] Anderson. Her husband Clarence W. Hicks predeceased her in 1985.
She was employed as a seamstress in former dress factories in the area.
She was a member of Rushville Church, the auxiliary of the VFW Post 6824, Rome, PA, and was on the Election Board of Rush Township for over 30 years She also enjoyed flower gardening and was an excellent baker,.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Ann Shaw of Tunkhannock, PA, Marilyn & Mark Pesesky of Interlaken, NY, Paula L. & Kevin Coleman of Lawton, PA, Diane & Richard Campbell of Wyalusing, PA, son and daughter-in-law, Ronald J. & Melissa Hicks of State College, PA, 7 grandchildren, Timothy, Garrick, Michelle, Carrie, Jill, Melissa, and Clint, 11 great-grandchildren, a sister & brother-in-law, Janet & William Brown, Jr. of Rome, PA, brother-in-law , Preston Hicks of Stevensville, PA., nieces and nephews.
A sister, Patti Losinger and a brother, Francis Anderson, predeceased her.
Services: 11:00 am Friday at Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose, PA 18801.
Visitation: 1 hour prior to services on Friday
