She was born in Hartford City February 4, 1954 to Lloyd and Beulah (Hall) Litteral. She attended Eastbrook School and graduated from Blackford High School.
On November 20, 1981 Diana was married to James D. Banter. He survives.
Diana worked at Marion General Hospital for twenty-two years and recently had worked as a unit secretary at IU Health Blackford Hospital, retiring in February of last year.
She was a member of the Apostolic Tabernacle, Hartford City for many years and recently attended Victory Temple, in Muncie.
Survivors include her husband, James, Hartford City; a son, Tony (Laura) Banter, Hartford City; a daughter, Sarah Banter; five grandchildren, Ashley (Kyle) Brumback, Cody (Nika) Alexander, Ciara Harden, Brandon Banter and Jordan Banter and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Loretta Boots of Harford City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, William Litteral, and a sister, Juanita Glover, sister-in-law, Kay Litteral and a brother-in-law, Ron Boots.
The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2017 in the Apostolic Tabernacle, 1318 S. Jefferson St., Hartford City, with Pastor Rick Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in the Van Buren Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017 in Waters Funeral Home, 501 W. Washington St., Hartford City and on Friday, January 6 from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the church.
