She was born September 25, 1917 in Saginaw, Michigan to Arthur and Augusta (Kientize) Leaman.
She worked for 25 years as a bookkeeper for Sears-Roebuck Company in Pontiac, Michigan.
After retirement she gave freely of her time. From 1994 to 2001 she was a volunteer bookkeeper for St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers, Arkansas.
Upon her return to the Belleville area in 2001 she continued her volunteering, this time at Memorial Hospital till 2013. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran church.
Mary Ann loved to crochet, work Search & Find books, and always enjoyed reading the National Enquirer and People Magazine. One of her greatest joys was camping. She and Ken belonged to the National Campers and Hikers Association. During their travels, it was Mary Ann who would drive their motor home, taking it all over the country and even into Canada.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Switzer; her parents; two sons, Robert E. Lockwood, and Ronald Switzer; a daughter, Jackie Mason; and a brother, Gordon Leaman.
She is survivedby a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Switzer; six grandchildren, Kevin Mason, Debra Mason, Mark Mason, Scott (Kim Hendricks) Switzer, Steve (Trish) Switzer, and Shelley (John Igel) Crotty; ten great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; two nephews, Gordon (Kathy) Leaman, and Steve (Norma) Leaman; as well as great-nephews and great-nieces.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m.,Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Hemmer officiating.
Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
