Teddy Ireland Abshire Sr., age 49, of Whitehall, ascended into Heaven to be with the Lord on January 29, 2005. Born February 2, 1955 in Grundy, Va. He was employed at Overnite Transportation for 13 1/2 years. He was the State of Ohio and U.S. National Truck Driving Champion of the Five Axle Sleeper Class of 2004. Preceded in death by his parents Ruby and Ireland Abshire. Survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Jan Abshire; proud kids, Teddy (Melissa) Abshire and Robert (Catherine) Abshire; precious granddaughters, Brittany and Cassidy Abshire; sisters, Teresa (Steve) Swank and Anita (Bobby) Hendricks; brother, Gary Abshire (Tonya); brother, Timmy Logsdon; many, many, many other family and friends. His family are all proud of the example he has left behind, along with "many, many, many" wonderful memories. He was a faithful and proud member of CharismaLife Ministries at 161 N. Hamilton Road, Whitehall, Oh., where the family will receive friends Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 12Noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. Pastor David Swaggerty officiating. Interment Obetz Cemetery .
