Doreen D. Johnson, 88, of Chisholm, died Saturday, December 31, 2016, at Heritage Manor Health Care Center in Chisholm. She was born October 7, 1928, in Evergreen, MN, to Henry and Ida (Redetzke) Leske. She married Milford P. Johnson in November of 1944 in Terra Haute, Indiana. Together, they farmed in New York Mills before moving to Chisholm in 1955.
Doreen was a proud wife, mother, and grandma, and was considered to be the best homemaker ever by her family. She enjoyed being the family seamstress and musician -playing the piano and accordion. She was also a long time member of Grace Lutheran Church in Chisholm.
Survivors include her husband, Milford; four children: Ron (June) Johnson, Greg (Karen) Johnson, Douglas Johnson, and Linda Johnson; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and five sisters: Millie Tangen, Betty Karkinen, Elaine Johnson, Darlene (Allen) Nikkari, and Donna Skogen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
