Originally from Houston, Texas, Janine is survived by her husband Stephen; children Shawna (Caleb) and Ross; grandchildren Charlie and Chase; brother Meynard, sister-in-law Nancy; nieces Lindsay and Emily; and nephew Ryan. Janine spent more than 45 years as a beloved educator. She started her own school, Greenhills School of San Luis Obispo and most recently was a favored consultant at Pearson Education, writing national curriculums and teaching teachers how to implement them. With her Southern charm, Janine radiated warmth, genuine kindness and positivity; she was everyone's "best friend." Friends and family will miss her big heart, unwavering support and the abundance of love she shared, often through her delicious baked goods and hand-stitched quilts. Janine continually surprised those she loved with hand-delivered gifts and notes. She only saw the best in people and always made them feel welcome, comfortable and at home in her presence. During her daily 4 mile walks to get her favorite coffee at Blackhorse, she routinely called those she loved to let them know she was thinking of them. It was impossible not to gravitate towards her youthful, uplifting spirit and her vibrant, contagious smile. Janine enjoyed traveling to new and distant places, most recently visiting Cuba, Turkey, Italy and Greece. She lived to create and share special memories with family and friends. She can rest in peace knowing she has forever changed the lives of her family, friends and the thousands of students and teachers with which she worked.
