Betty J. DeFlieger, 86, of West Concord, died Thursday, December 29, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

Betty Joanne Kilness was born August 19, 1930 in Concord Township, Minnesota the daughter of Peder and Alta (Cain) Kilness. She was baptized and confirmed at Hegre Lutheran Church. She attended school in West Concord and graduated in 1948 from West Concord High School. Following her schooling, she worked at Deason Cleaners in Rochester and then at Jostens in Owatonna. She was united in marriage to Richard DeFlieger on December 27, 1951 at Zion Lutheran Church in West Concord. The couple lived in Rapid City, South Dakota for a short while before settling in West Concord where they raised their two sons, Joe and Jim. Betty was a member of Hegre Lutheran Church and an active member of the Legion Auxiliary. She loved cats and dogs, crossword puzzles, entertaining family and friends, big band music, Betty Boop and Dean Martin. Her family will remember her sense of humor, her honesty and her welcoming home.

She is survived by her husband Richard DeFlieger of West Concord; children, son, Jim (Sandra) DeFlieger of West Concord and Joe (Maria) DeFlieger of West Concord; grandson, Joshua DeFlieger and his children, Matthew and Jacob all of Loris, SC; step-grandchildren, Theresa (Tyler) Laue and their children, Amaya and Aubrey of Dodge Center and Tyler Bartz and his son, Caleb of Waseca and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be held from 4-7pm Monday, January 2, 2017 and 12-1pm Tuesday, January 3, 2017 all at the Michaelson Funeral Home in West Concord. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at the Michaelson Funeral Home in West Concord with Reverend Renita Eidenschink officiating. Interment will be in the Hegre Lutheran Cemetery.
