[OBITUARY]
BROWN-Caroline "Callie"(nee Holliday) was born in Sumpter,So.Carolina on Aug.28,1841 and moved to Alabama with her parents in 1849.She was married to John Brown . Deceased died at the home of J.S.Holliday near Old Providence on last Wednesday. She taken sick Tuesday and died Wednesday. Her remains were buried at Bethel cemetery near Glenwood on Thursday. She joined the Baptist church at Bethel in the fall of 1862 and lived a firm believer in our Lord.She leaves surviving her,two brothers Ben and J.S.Holliday and seven sisters Mrs.J.S.Holladay, Mrs.J.H.Hough, Mrs.W.E.Clark, Miss Sue Holliday, Mrs. Flora Everage, Mrs.G.W.Spurlock, Mrs.Dave Brown and Mrs. T.J. Fowler.Mrs.Brown was 73 years old.And a host of relatives & friends. (The Luverne Journal-May 29,1913)
