Mr. Robert Dean Felix, 79, of Dunkard Hollow Road, Alum Bank, died Saturday, December 31st, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.
Mr. Felix was born in Claysburg on Monday, July 12, 1937, the son of the late Clair and Rebecca (Feathers) Felix.
On June 22, 1986, he married Dorothy L. (Wertz) Felix. She preceded him in death on January 21, 2013.
He is survived by Daughter- Wanda Lasure, New Paris; Step Son- Dean W. Sarver, West Virginia; Step Son- Larry E. husband of Kerri (Harkleroad) Sarver, Alum Bank; Step Daughter- Delores J. (Sarver) Vogt, Aliquippa; Sister- Shirley Dixon, Carlisle; Brother- Bruce Felix, Central City. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Josh & Seth Lasure, Autumn Bower, Dakota Miller, Derek & Ethan Sarver and Kristin & Steven Vogt, and three great grandchildren, Isabella, Blake & Owen.
Dean was a member of the New Paris United Methodist Church. He served as a paratrooper in the US Army from 1956-1959, serving one year in country during the Korean War. Dean was a truck driver, retiring after 40 years of driving. Throughout his career, he was employed by Eastern Express, Halls, Carolina and ABF. Dean was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Service will be held at Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellsburg at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 6th, 2016 with Pastor Joy Blackburn officiating.
Interment will be held at Mock Cemetery, Alum Bank.
Graveside military rites will be accorded by the Fort Bedford Honor Guard.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Geisel Funeral Home in Schellsburg.
