Pauline Reed, 97 , of Creston, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Crest Haven Care Centre in Creston.

No public services are to be held. Private burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Creston.

Elma Pauline Reed, daughter of James Monroe Addison and Sarah Alice (Stedman) Addison, was born July 20, 1918 in Delphos, Iowa. She graduated from Afton High School in 1936.

On August 14, 1937, Pauline married Harold Cleve Reed in Indianola, Iowa. They settled and worked in the Glendale, California area for the next 11 years. They moved northeast of Creston in 1948.

Pauline did line work for the Coca Cola Plant and then as a clerk for J.C. Penney. Pauline was primarily a homemaker. In 1977, they sold the farm near Creston. After a brief time in California, they returned to Creston, moving to 908 N. Chestnut. Pauline worked at Southwestern Community College as a secretary for 10 years. She retired after Harold died in 1987.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, a son James Leon Reed (in 2007), three sisters, Esta Kerns, Venita Addaway and Arlene Parrott and three brothers, Jack, Clay, and Harold Addison.
