She was born March 14, 1925, in rural Ludlow, the daughter of John J. Graham and Bernadine (Huguet) Graham. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Paul Graham and Maurice Graham.
She is survived by her cousins, Rose Breen of Urbana, Margaret Kissaw of Mansfield, Richard Hewerdine and James Hewerdine of Paxton, William Hewerdine of Rantoul, Gene Huguet of southern Illinois and Judy Walsh of Pennsylvania.
Mary graduated from Illinois Business College and worked her entire career at the University of Illinois. She was secretary to the Dean of the College of Agriculture for many years.
Mary was a proud parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church in Champaign. She was a devout Catholic and benefactor to several Catholic organizations, particularly schools ranging from grade schools and high schools to the U of I's St. John's Newman Center, a place she dearly loved.
As a young lady, Mary was active in sports playing much golf and tennis. Mary was an avid fan of all Fighting Illini teams, especially the women's basketball program.
The family wants to thank all those who cared for Mary at the Inman with a special thanks to Monsignor Hallin, Lisa Fancher and Debbie Farmer.
Mary's funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at St. John's Catholic Church on the U of I campus. Visitation will be 45 minutes before the Mass. Burial will be immediately after at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rantoul.
Mary was a kind and unassuming lady who helped many people. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
