Geraldine E. Wierzba
Of Plover died Sunday afternoon, December 25, 2016 at Maple Ridge Memory Care Center in Plover while under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Age 79 Geraldine was born August 18, 1937 on the family homestead in the Town of Albin. She was the daughter of the late Peter N. and Stella E. (Wanta) Wrycza. She attended St. Adalbert Grade School and graduated from Rosholt High School.
Her marriage to Joseph J. Wierzba took place on September 28, 1957 at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church in Rosholt. After their marriage the couple settled in Rosholt for over 50 years, moving to Plover in 2015. Her husband Joseph survives. Geraldine worked for the Rosholt School District and the Wisconsin Lions Camp in their Dietary area until her retirement in 1995.
After her retirement she devoted herself to her family, especially being there and taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors besides her husband Joseph is one Daughter Doreen (Randall) Ehrenberg of Waupaca and her son Dwayne (Kathie) Wierzba of Plover. Five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters; Gladys Drewa of Chicago, IL, and Rosaline Pochinski of Milwaukee, and four brothers Robert (Delphine) Wrycza of Waterford, WI. Peter (Delores) Wyrcza of Rosholt, Roger (Pat) Wrycza of Stevens Point and James (Kathy) Wrycza of Custer. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Jeffrey and a sister Celia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 30, 2016 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Rev. Jeffrey Hennes officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Adalbert Parish Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 9:30 A.M. Friday morning at St. Adalbert Church until the time for Mass. There will be a parish rosary prayed at 10:00 A, M Friday morning in the church.
