Our loving sister, mother, grand mother, great grandmother, and aunt returned home to her Heavenly father, on Sunday morning, August 9, 2015, at her home in Taylorsville, UT after battling a long time illness.
Carolyn was born in Salt Lake County, Utah on May 10, 1937 her family lived in Park City, Utah. She married her sweetheart Rodney on June 4, 1954 and then graduated top of her class as Valedictorian in 1955. She was a member of the LDS church and later solemnized her marriage to her husband Rodney and was sealed to her daughter Drena, on June 4, 1973, in the Salt Lake Temple. She was active over the years and held many callings including Relief Society Secretary and visiting teacher. She worked in different capacities with different companies, loan officer for a mortgage company and for the accounting department for Mountain States Bindery. She loved to do crafting of all kinds; oil painting, sewing, quilting, embroidery, crochet, and she canned everything. She loved to cook and entertain, work in her garden, and go camping.
She is preceded in death by her husband Rodney Barker Piggott, one brother Jerry Kilgore, father James Woodrow Kilgore, stepfather Russell Louis Sweatfield, mother Viola Grace Kilgore Sweatfield, and granddaughter MaKayla Anne Healy Carroll. She is survived in death by daughter Drena Healy, son in law Melvin Healy, two grandsons, and four great grand sons.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 6:30 p.m. at the Taylorsville Utah 8th Ward 1495 West Tamarack Road, Taylorsville UT, where friends may call Friday from 5-6:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Saturday August 15, 2015 at the Bloomington, Idaho, Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
