Benson Guyton, 85, retired engineer-

Funeral for Benson Guyton, 85, of Decatur will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Brown Service Fimeral Home with the Rev. Barry Kiger officiating.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Guyton died Friday, June 14, 1996, at his residence. He was born August 19, 1910, in Holmes County, Miss. He was the son of the late Mima Emaris Owen Guyton and the late Joseph Daniel Guyton. He was a retired lieutenant colonel with the U.S. Army Reserve, a veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The graduate of Mississippi State University was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the First Presbyterian Church in Decatur.

He is survived by two sons, Charles J. Guyton of Decatur and Benson Guyton Jr. of Russellville; four brothers, Joseph O. Guyton of Leawood, Kansas, John D. Guyton of Kosciusko, Miss, Robert D. Guyton of Starkville, Miss and Daniel Guyton of Granbury, Texas; a sister, Miss Eleanor Guyton of Kosciusko, Miss; and two granddaughters.
