He was born in Clarksburg, WV on Oct. 2, 1915, a son of the late James and Julia (Bruni) Capicola.
Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Virginia (Delauder) Capicola,
his sister, Victoria Capicola Llanaza of Hampton Roads, VA, a niece, Juliana
and husband Sam Scolapio of Clarksburg, WV, a great nephew, Gregory and his wife AnnaBelle Scolapio of Clarksburg, WV and many nieces and nephews outside the Clarksburg area.
Joe was preceded in death by his sisters, Angela Paciotti, Geta Kopp, Elena Gualazzi and Mary Cullinan.
Mr. Capicola retired from Rolland Glass Company with 43 years of service and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the European Theatre during World War II. Joe was a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of St. James Catholic Church in Northview.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., Clarksburg from 4-8 p.m. Monday. A Vigil Service will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.,
Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011 at the St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Alfred U. Obiudu as celebrant. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
