Alice Elaine Stettler Beus, 92, of Kuna, Idaho, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in Meridian, Idaho.
She was born March 3, 1924 in Logan, Utah, to Albert Stettler and Ethel Bayley Stettler. Elaine was the only daughter in the family, having 4 older brothers and 2 younger. As a child Elaine picked fruit and berries on her dad’s farm.
She met Dean Ezra Beus on the school bus when she was 15 years old. He was the only boy she ever dated. They were married and sealed June 3, 1942, in the Salt Lake LDSTemple. They are the parents of six children. They lived in Utah until 1959 when they purchased a dairy and 80 acres in Kuna, Idaho. Elaine was a wonderful mother and homemaker.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, giving service in many capacities throughout her life. Some of the choicest opportunities for service came while she served in the Boise Idaho LDS Temple for over 20 years, and while she and Dean served an 18-month mission in Jamaica.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lorraine Beus Morgan (Lynn); her parents; and six brothers: Albert, LeRoy, George, Lawrence, William and Harold.
She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Dean Beus. of Kuna; children: Steve (Becky) Beus, of Kuna, Stan (Jan) Beus, of Nampa, Lynn (Cyndy) Beus, of Hansen, Shane (Elizabeth) Beus, of Kuna, and Lana (Richard) Nielson, of Basin City, WA; 39 grandchildren; 149 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at the Kuna LDS Stake Center, 3305 West Kuna Rd. Kuna, Idaho, on Wednesday December 28, 2016, at 11:00 a.m.. A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening December 27, 2016, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Kuna LDS Stake Center and again Wednesday, prior to the funeral, from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m.
Interment will be at the Kuna Cemetery, Kuna, Idaho.
Arrangements are under the direction of Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 467-7300
