Flora B. McArtor
Flora B. McArtor, age 90, passed away Sunday, November 21, 1993 at the Prairie View Healthcare Center in Tracy, where she had been a resident since 1982.
Flora was born July 13, 1902 at Ogden, Iowa to John A. and Alice Sax Irwin. The family moved to the Tracy-Amiret, Minnesota area when she was very young. She received her formal education through the sixth grade in Tracy and Amiret Public Schools and then attended the Fairbault School for the Blind for two years.
She was united in marriage on January 26, 1922 to Herbert Lee McDonald in Tracy. To this union was born two children, Alice Jane and Junior Lee McDonald.
On April 14, 1943, she was united in marriage to Ervin Vanroy McArtor and they made their home at various times in Marshall, Slayton and finally Tracy.
Ervin passed away in 1967.
Flora was a very active homemaker, reading Braille and tatting. Due to ill health she entered the Christian Manor Nursing Home in 1982 (now called Prairie View) where she has lived since.
She was a member of the Church of Christ in Tracy.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Wyman (Alice) Tadd of Walnut Grove; two step-daughters, Mrs. Ardys Johnson of Palmdale, California and Mrs. Evelyn Parker of Anderson, California; one step-son Wayne McArtor of Motley, Minnesota, nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; one brother Daniel Irwin of Tracy; and one sister Mrs. Lloyd (Vera) Halstenson of Walnut Grove, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her second husband, one infant son, three sisters and two brothers.
