MaeAlla Bruner was born January 27, 1939 & departed this life December 16, 2016. Mrs. Bruner was one of the first of six African American undergraduates to attend Northeastern State College in Tahlequah. She was a respected educator in the Muskogee Public schools for 32 years. She served as President of the Muskogee Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta sorority and served faithfully in Greater Canaan Baptist Church as Sunday school teacher and President of several organizations. A Home Going Celebration is scheduled Friday, December 23, 2016, 11:00 a.m., Antioch Church of Muskogee, 500 W. Broadway Street, Muskogee, OK; with Elder Wallace Brown, eulogizing. Interment will follow in Booker T. Washington Cemetery, Muskogee, OK.
