Helen Ruth Arvitt, age 87, of Aurora, Missouri, formerly of Lake Isabella, California and Lebanon, Kentucky, passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the Ozark Methodist Manor in Marionville, Missouri. She was born January 24, 1929 in Poteau, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late John and Winnie (Roland) McAbee.
Helen was a manager for California City Inn and was a member of the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Lebanon, Kentucky. She loved family times and especially enjoyed camping at Lake Isabella with family and friends. She also enjoyed quilting and traveling across the United States in her motor home.
On September 5, 1971, she married Donald Avritt in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1986.
She is survived by her son, Shannon Webb, and his wife, Fayann, of Aurora; one daughter, Lina Burton, and her husband, Thomas, of Somerset, Kentucky; three brothers, Winton McAbee and his wife, Barbara, of Bakersfield, California, Jack McAbee of Fillmore, Utah, and Howard McAbee and his wife, Joyce, of Bakersfield, California; two sisters, Norma Martin and Sandra Ferguson and her husband, George, all of Bakersfield; daughter-in-law, Sue McAbee, of Mojave, California; ten grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, John and Winnie; husband, Donald; son, Donald McAbee; brother, Raymond McAbee and his wife, Glenda, and sister-in-law, Loraine McAbee, preceded her in death.
A graveside service under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, will be held on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at the Ryder Cemetery in Lebanon, Kentucky.
