Jackie Lee Boswell, age 88, Joplin, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Freeman West Hospital.

Jack was born April 4, 1928 in Wentworth, Missouri, son of the late William Burton Boswell and Nellie Helen McCollough Boswell. He grew up in the Wentworth/Sarcoxie area, and went to work for Steadley at the age of 16. He worked there for 25 plus years before going to work for Big Smith in Carthage where he worked for over 28 years before retiring. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, and stayed busy helping friends and neighbors by mowing, and taking care of handy man jobs well up into his 80's.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph and Burt, and sisters, Ava and Iola.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Robertson Boswell; sons, Jackie Boswell and wife Robin, and Rickie Boswell all of Carthage; step-daughter, Connie Foster and husband Mark of LaRussell, Missouri; sister, Dorothy Cowan of Carthage; five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Friday, December 23, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in Van Buren Cemetery.
