Son of Mabelle Loti Holcombe Abbott

In the meantime his mother went back to England, thus leaving him with no home and no money so he was forced to withdraw. He rented a room and ate his meals in a local restaurant. He found work in the State of New Hampshire Division of Blind Services, driving the head of the department (who was blind) around the State interviewing blind people and offering State assistance.
He then enrolled in night-school classes at Concord Business College in hopes of obtaining a more stable work position.

On June 5, 1943 he married Priscilla McComb..

George had enlisted in the U.S. Navy and spent most of WWII on active duty.

He worked for the U.S. Postal Services for a time and also managed a bookstore but his last few years of work were being a salesman for Concord Lumber Company.

He became a Lay Minister for the church, serving small parishes throughout the state. He was licensed by the Bishop of New Hampshire,

In 1973 he was diagnosed with cancer and died August 31, 1974.
