Robert Ray (Tom) Carroll, 73, Palmyra, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016.
Born Oct. 10, 1943, in Laconia, he was the son of the late Robert H. and Ollie Hunter Carroll.
He was a retired drywall contractor and the recipient of a double-lung transplant 11 years ago.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Carroll Jr., and 10 siblings, Marguerite Swartz, Ferriba Ann Carroll, Norma Jean Gregory, Zola Toops, Lola Gibbs, Linda Boes, JoAnn Rodewig, Roy Allen Carroll, Sue Feather and Terry Carroll.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, the former Patty Shelton; a brother, Roger Carroll (Margie); a granddaughter, Candice (Charlie) Carroll; a great-granddaughter, Farrah Lynn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Monday, Dec. 19, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday, Dec. 20, after 10 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home in New Albany.
Funeral: Tuesday, Dec. 20, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Otterbein Cemetery in Laconia.
