Born Jul 6, 1933 in Madrid, son of Garnet W and Iva C White Beckstead; he married Onalie A Scott.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge 393, Waddington; a former Madrid fire commissioner and past director of SLC Farm Bureau board; Seaway Bulk Mild Cooperative and SLC Holstein Club. He enjoyed sugaring and gardening. Surviving besides his wife and his mother of United Helpers Nursing Home, Ogdensburg; a son Garnet Scott and Jessie, Madrid; three daughters, Ella and Jeffrey Sovie, Waddington and Sheila and Thomas Smith and April Ashley all of Madrid; a brother, Ronald J., Madrid; two sisters, Mrs James L Joan Webb and Mrs. Ulla Carol Sharlow, both of Ogdensburg; several grandchildren; a great granddaughter. His father died Oct 4, 2002. Funeral at Phillips Memorial Home, Madrid with Rev. Eunice M Tabor officiating. The body will cremated.
