Mr. Allen was a self-employed farmer and a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Norma H. Allen; a daughter, Mrs. Louise A. Amiss of Lovingston; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday in Ridgecrest Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Gene Davis. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday at the Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston, and all other times at the residence. The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to Nelson County Rescue Squad.
