William Craw Reekie dies at 79
Rose Croix services for William Craw Reekie, 79, who died Saturday in Chico, Calif., will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Butterworth Mortuary, followed by cremation.
Born in Seattle, Mr. Reekie was a graduate of Franklin High School and the University of Washington. He was a childrens-wear manufacturers representative until he retired about 15 years ago. In recent years he had lived at Lake Boren.
Mr. Reekie was a member of the 42nd Division of the 112th Battalion in the First World War. He was the first commander of Post 2289, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a past president of the Northwest Childrens Wear Travelers Association. He was a member of Masonic orders and past president of the Redmond Golf Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Dr. Elagrace Reekie, dean of the School of Nursing at Chico State University, and a sister, Mrs. Marsh Cochran, Spokane.
Memorials may be made to the William C. Reekie Memorial Fund for Nursing Scholarships, Chico State University, Chico, Calif.
