Clara Leone Sanders, 90 of Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Billings, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, in Kansas City of cancer. She was born on Nov. 25, 1909, in Fairfax, S.D., the daughter of Balthasar J. and Magdalena (Bentz) Gall.
Leone graduated from Fairfax grade and high schools. She married Erwin F. Wacker on Sept 21, 1930. Two daughters were born to that union. In 1938, the family moved to Billings, where Erwin worked with Aldrich Lumber. He died in 1948.
Leone was married to C.T. 'Tad' Sanders on June 14,1955. The couple moved to Kansas City when Tad moved his Livestock Auction Markets Association headquarters to a more centralized location. She and Tad became loyal Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fans. She also had the pleasure of making many new friends while accompanying Tad on his work-related travels to many states, Canada, Mexico, South America and Africa. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and three sisters.
