Brian N. Swarthout, 42, of Waterford, passed away Friday, December 16, 2016 at UPMC – Hamot, due to surgical complications. Brian was born in Elmira, NY, on February 5, 1974, the son of the late William and Shirley (Allshouse) Swarthout.
Brian attended Falconer High School and graduated from Southwestern High School in Jamestown, NY in 1993. He went on to serve four years in the United States Army. After his service, he earned his Engineering degree from Jamestown Community College and Penn State-Behrend. Brian was an independent contractor working as a Quality Engineering Consultant for the past 10 years. He loved to fish, kayak, camp, and was an avid world traveler. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Brian is survived by his two brothers, Scott Swarthout and his wife Bianca, of Westfield, NY and Jeremy Swarthout, of Lakewood, NY; his brother and sister-in-law Jake and Erica Lanyon of Erie; longtime friend Corey Norton of North Carolina; his step-sister, Saresa Swarthout, of Elmira, NY; his step-brother, Shawn Swarthout, of Elmira, NY; his girlfriend, Dannille Dombrowski of Erie; his aunt, Donna Swarthout; his uncle, William Allshouse; his nieces and nephews, Christopher, Melissa, Franky, Benjamin, Shelby, Matthew, Alison, Colton, Wyatt, and Samantha; his great nephew, Trenton; his Goddaughter, Samantha Lanyon; and the numerous loving friends, near and far, that he accumulated through the years.
