Chas. Maffitt, a farmer living a few miles Southwest of this city, died last Saturday and was buried Monday at the Momence cemetery. Rev. Shaffer conducting the funeral. The deceased was born in Jackson, Mich., in 1846 and came to Illinois in 1857 and has since been a resident of Kankakee county. He was married to Miss Caroline Wiggers in 1874, who with one daughter, Laura Gruby, survives. The deceased was a good citizen and held in the highest esteem by all.
