Mrs. Evans was a graduate of New Lexington High School in 1939 and a member of the First Christian Church in Cambridge and Dover. She worked as a sales person for the former Davis Department Store in Cambridge, and for Dr. Maximo and was also a housewife for almost 69 years.
Evelyn was married on July 12, 1939 to Edgar H. Evans of the home in Dover.
She also leaves behind: 2 daughters, Carole A. Jordan of Dover, OH., and Janet S. Welch of New Philadelphia, OH.; 3 sisters, Marilyn (Robert) Dillon of Marion, OH., Shirley (Russell) Endley of Winter Haven, FL. and Nancy Joan (Ed) Anderson of Cambridge, OH.; 1 brother, Arthur (Dorothy) Allen of Cambridge, OH.; 4 grandchildren, David (Marylynne) Wells, Denise (David) Korns, Dawn Wells and Lisa Wicker; 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Preceeding her in death are; 1 daughter, Patti Jo Evans and 1 brother, Ralph (Eloise) Allen.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 from 10:00am till 12:00pm with the service at 12:00pm. Rev. Kenard J. Parrott will officiate the service with burial following in Center Cemetery.
