ANNA MATHWIG RITES OBSERVED
Funeral services for Anna H. Mathwig, 69, were conducted at Waggener and Campbell Chapel Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Vernon Harra of the Baptist Church of Creston and the Rev. M. E. Van de Mark, pastor of the Epworth Methodist Church of Kalispell, officiating.
Burial was in Conrad Memorial Cemetery with John W. Benson, S. M. Marvin, Marion Murer, Redford Turner, Willie Tew, and Alvern W. Arno as pallbearers.
Anna Honora Mathwig was born July 16, 1885, at Perth, Ontario, Canada, a daughter of Ellen and Thomas Moore. In 1904, she was married to Edward R. Nugent. They made their home in Canada until 1913 when they moved to Forsyth, where Mr. Nugent preceded her in death in 1929.
In 1931 she was married to Reinhold A. Mathwig of Sumatra where they lived until 1936 when they came to the Flathead. Since that time they had made their home in the Flathead engaging in farming in the Creston area.
Mrs. Mathwig died in Kalispell last Saturday afternoon.
She was preceded in death by one child in infancy and a son, Walter Mathwig, in 1951.
Surviving her are her husband, R. A. Mathwig, at their farm home near Creston; three daughters, Mrs. Lydia Hatch of Miles City, Mrs. Isabelle Spannegal of Forsyth, and Mrs. Hattie Featherston of Great Falls; three sons, Roy Nugent of Kalispell, Archie Nugent of Forsyth, and Louis Nugent of Great Falls; two step-children, Hilda Fisher of Miles City, and Harvey Mathwig of Moline, Ill.; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother and four sisters who live in Canada.
