Rites. Visitation will be from 1 3 p.m. on Tuesday in the All Faith Chapel at the Nebraska Veterans Home. Kleine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Roger was born March 16, 1926 at Florence, NE, the son of James F. and Martha (Green) Hineline. He grew up and attended school in Florence and Tech High in Omaha, NE. At the age of 17, he entered the U.S. Navy on and served during WWII, receiving his discharge on July 28, 1947. He served as a seaman 1st class aboard the USS California. He married Mary and they had a son, Roger Dale Hineline. Mary died in 1956. Later he married Helen and they made their home in Nebraska, Colorado, and California. After her death he married Thelma and they made their home in California. Roger had been an over the road truck driver most of his life, retiring from Leaseway Trucking Co. thirteen years ago.
Roger moved to Grand Island to be closer to his brother, Leo, and his sister, Vesta. He moved to the NE Veterans Home in November of 2000 because of ill health. In 2002 he proudly received his high school diploma at a special
ceremony at the Veterans Home.
He is survived by, one brother: Leo (and wife, Helen) Hineline of Grand Island, four sisters, Vesta Hineline of Grand Island, Ramona Shad of Mt. Ayr, IA, Norma Hatcher of Hindsville, AR, and Mary Davis of Atlantic, IA.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence, and a sister, Ruby Stevensen
