Dick Rich
WASHINGTON - Richard "Dick" Rich, 83, of Washington passed away at 8:26 p.m. Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Reflections Memory Care in Washington.

Dick was born October 20, 1933, in Deer Creek to the late Lester H. and Evelyn P. Riggs Rich. He married Helen Y. Hellweg on January 25, 1958, in Washington.

Surviving are his wife, Helen of Washington;
daughters, Cheri (Mike) Tanner of Washington and Diane Bauman of Eureka;
grandchildren, Holly (Jeff) Pflederer, Kristin Tanner, Cody Bauman and Brock Bauman; three great-grandchildren;
and his siblings, Yvonne (Don) Brandle of Morton, William (Judy) Rich of Eureka, Virginia Crawford of Oklahoma, Gerald (Sue) Rich of Deer Creek, Carol Jones of Goodfield and Michael (Elona) Rich of Orlando, FL; and
his brother-in-law, Ed Hellweg.

He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Lester Rich Jr., Norma Jean Shawn, Dorothy Hall and Robert Rich.

Dick served in the United States Marine Corps from 1953-1956.
He began his career as a plumber at Delmer Potts and Son. In 1970, he opened his own business in Washington, Dick Rich Plumbing, which he operated for many years. Dick was active in the community as a member of Taylor Lodge AF&AM No. 98 in Washington, the Kiwanis Club and as a Shriner.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed taking his wife out to dinner on the weekends, especially to Paparazzi's in Peoria, where they had a standing reservation. He also enjoyed time spent at the racetrack with his grandsons and gardening.

A special thank you is owed to Reflections Memory Care and Transitions Hospice for the loving care they have provided.
A funeral service for Dick will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, with military honors following. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2016, at the funeral home. Additional visitation will be held a half hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. The Rev. Jesse F. Tanner and Chaplain Trevor Bartolomucci will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Transitions Hospice, the Alzheimer's Association or the Washington Rescue Squad.
