Andrew Johnson Payne was born May 10, 1877 in Mayfield, Jackson County, Tennessee to John J. and Elizabeth Francis Keith Payne. In 1911 he came to Utah as a convert to the LDS Church and resided in Lewiston where he lived until 1919, where he moved to Alabama for one year. Returning to Utah in 1920, he moved to Ogden where he was a fruit grower until his retirement in 1945. He married Polly Brenley February 16, 1896 in Mayfield, Jackson County, Tennessee. He was a member of the LDS Twenty-seventh ward. Andrew and Polly had eight children. Andrew was 73 at the time of his death.
2nd marriage was to Hilma Mole Payne. Married in 1935 and had 1 son from this marriage, James Payne in 1938. Hilma & Andrew divorced around 1949 and Andrew died the following year after the divorce. (Source, family records).
