George Bryant Pitman, 86, died Wednesday, November 24, at his home near Faubush. He was born March 29, 1862, in this county, but had spent much of his life outside of Kentucky. At various times he made his home in Missouri, Indiana, and Ohio. His first wife, Mrs. Lilly Edmond Pitman, preceded him in death five years. Mr. Pitman joined the Church of Christ while in Oklahoma and was a devoted, loyal member so long as his health permitted. He had been ill for many years prior to his death. During his long life he had met and made friends with many people.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Samantha Pitman; two sons, George Pitman, Jr. and John Pitman, of St. Louis; and eight daughters, Mrs. Ethel Demeargela, Mrs. Alta Edmonds, Mrs. Leona Schlipp, Mrs. Evelin Stephens, Mrs. Corine Dyer, and Mrs. Elsie Lathy, all of St. Louis, Mrs. Fanchion Dixon of Kansas and Mrs. Deloris Bushbaum of California.

Funeral services were held Thursday at the Faubush Baptist Church, the Rev. Bert Whitaker officiating. Interment was in the Weddle Cemetery.
