Bonnie F. Jowers
December 26, 1954 - December 11, 2016

Funeral services for Ms. Bonnie F. Jowers will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, Louisiana with her nephew Rev. Nathan Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Campbell Creek Cemetery, Sharp, LA, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home.

Ms. Jowers, or Bonnie/Aunt Bonnie as she was called by so many, age 61, of Lena, Louisiana, entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 11, 2016 in Riverside Hospital in Alexandria after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her adoring family.

Bonnie was a loving daughter, sister and aunt, besides being a friend to many. She was a licensed florist and retired from the U.S. Post Office. However, her proudest accomplishment was the love she showed her many nieces & nephews. She took great pleasure in being an aunt and loved to share life with her family. She had a great sense of humor, was full of questions and was an incredible story teller.

Ms. Jowers is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence B. Martin & Grace Carver Martin; her adoptive father, C.F. Baker and her husband, Hugh Marcus Jowers.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sisters, Bertie Martin Wise, Julia Martin; her brother, Lawrence "Buddy" Martin (Betty); her partner in life, Roy McGlothlin; 10 nieces and nephews and over 40 great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be her nephews, Rickey Wise, Terry Wise, Mike Hopkins, Andre' Martin, Robert Critcher and Mark Smith, Jr.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Rapides Regional Medical Center ICU and 4th floor south, and the caring staff of Riverside Hospital for the kind and compassionate care that was given during her illness.

Visitation will be at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
