Richard Edward Benner, 58, of Newport RD 2 died Monday in Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg.
He was the owner of an auto-salvage business; was a Navy veteran of the Korean War; and was a member of American Legion Post 340 and VFW Post 255, both of Duncannon.
Surviving are his wife, Rita Mello Benner; four daughters, Sandra Carvalho of Columbia, S.C., Nancy McMaster and Susan Hockenberry, both of Newport, and Barbara Wright of Duncannon; three half brothers, John Jones of Corpus Christi, Texas, Ross Jones of Dillsburg, and James T. Jones of New Bloomfield RD 2; a half sister, Edith Jones of Newport; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Myers Funeral Home with Stanley Huss officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Newport RD 2.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
