US Marine PFC Thomas Monroe Crow, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Greensboro, NC.

US Marine Private First Class Thomas Monroe Crow was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Marine Corps, PFC Crow served our country until August 24th, 1965 in South Vietnam. He was 19 years old and was not married. It was reported that Thomas died when the Airplane he was flying in crashed. His body was recovered. PFC Crow is on panel 03E, line 002 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C.

His KC130 Tanker airplane crashed on a return trip from R&R at Hong Kongs, Kai Tak Airport, into the Harbor. There were about 26 lives lost, PFC Crow was one of those killed. Thomas Monroe Crow was also a graduate of Dudley High School in Greensboro, NC. The son of Mr. & Mrs. Thomas H. Crow. One sister Mrs. Jannie Wilson of Alabama

He served with Charlie Battery, 1st Battalion, 12th Marine Artillery Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, 3rd MAF.

He was awarded The Combat Action Ribbon(CAR), The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal.
