From Wayne County Press, 5/20/1909:
Wm. Taylor who went to Colorado recently for his health, died while there and the remains were brought back to Wayne City Sunday. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at Bailey Cemetery. Deceased had recently undergone an operation for an abcess on his liver and had not the strength to recover. The bereaved family live near Orchardville.

Death Notice from Longmont Ledger, May 14, 1909:
Died.
Taylor - In Longmont, Thursday, May 6, 1909, pyemia, W.C. Taylor, aged 55 years.
Mr. Taylor was born in Ohio, and leaves a wife and two sons.
Short services were held at Rice's parlors and the remains sent to Wayne City, Ill.

Note: William Clinton Taylor, son of George William and Catherine (Spicer) Taylor was born about 1853 in Ohio. His mother's obituary in 1910 mentions only 2 living sons and not William. The family was living in Wayne County by 1860. In 1870 he was living there with his mother. He appears to have married three times. He married Sarah Scott before 1880 when they lived in Wayne County with two of their three children, George and Mary Alice. In July 1882 he married Martha Ellen Marshall. They had four children. Presumably both Sarah and Martha died but no evidence has been found yet. On August 2, 1894 he married Etta F. Cheeley Keltcher (listed as Kelleher on the Illinois Marriage Index, but Cheeley in WC record) and in the 1900 Wayne County census there are 6 Taylor children and 3 Keltcher step-children in the household and one granddaughter. The two youngest Taylor children are William and Etta's. According to her obituary, Etta remarried in 1909 after the death of her husband, William Taylor.

Children in 1900 as spelled in transcript:
Charles L. Kelcher, 16; step
Elmer O. Kelcher, 15; step
Annie Taylor, 14; daughter of Martha
Benjamin H. Taylor, 10; son of Martha
Delia P. Kelcher, 10; step
Oliver Taylor, 8, son of Martha
Ollie Taylor, 8, daughter of Martha
Henry K. Taylor, 5, son of Etta
John A.L. Taylor, 3, son of Etta
Cora M. Warren, 2/12, granddaughter

Older Children not in household by 1900:
George, son of Sarah
Mary Alice, daughter of Sarah
Joseph, son of Sarah, living with William's mother in 1900

There does not appear to be a visible tombstone for William. Only the newspaper notice of his death and burial have been found so far, along with the death notice from Longmont which matches age, birth location and the fact that he was married with two children although the short article doesn't mention children from previous marriages who were all married and out of the household by 1909.
