Alton Ray Waldrep, age 73, a resident of Summerdale, AL., passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016.

He was reunited with his love and cherished wife of over 54 years, Grace Trussell Waldrep, his favorite “red-headed” daughter Dana Waldrep Kreider, his parents, brother, and numerous loved ones.

Alton had a dry sense of humor, a love of God, family, sports, and a sacred trust that Coach Saban would lead the Crimson Tide to another Championship (Roll Tide!).

Survivors include his son, Derek (Lisa) Waldrep of San Antonio, TX, and daughter, Danielle (Allen) Rich of Hoover, AL., two granddaughters, Apryl (Jeff) DeCorte of Northport, AL. and Kaithlyn Kreider of Auburn, AL., and a freat granddaughter who had her Papa wrapped tightly around both of her little hand, Brennan Rae DeCorte as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

The family will receive friends from Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley, Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 4-6pm.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley, Monday, December 12, 2016 at 11:00am.

Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens, Tillmans Corner, 6100 Three Notch Rd., Mobile, AL 36619 at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 13220 Main St., Elberta, AL. 36530.
