Age 70, of Watkins Glen, NY, passed peacefully at home on Saturday, August 16, 2008. He was born on November 7, 1937 in Hornby, NY to the late Harold and Verdie Thompson VanAlstine.
He retired from Akzo (Watkins) Salt Company in 1997 after 33 years of service. He also served in the Air Force from 1960 to 1964. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY on Monday, August 18, 2008, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. His funeral service will be held there on Tuesday, at 10 a.m. The Rev. Teddy Herron will officiate. Interment Montour Cemetery, Montour Falls, NY.
