BATTCHER, James Howard, 84, of Louisville, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, with family at his side.Howard was born in Lebanon, KY to the late John and Susie Raley Battcher. He was a retired union bricklayer, a profession he held for 41 years; was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church; and a U. S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Colleen Battcher; sisters, Sophie Thompson and Lucille Florence; brothers, John A., Jr., George W. and Charles I. Battcher.Survivors include his wife, Amanda Boone Battcher; son, Mike Battcher (Mary Rose); daughter, Renee Brusie (Jeff); grandchildren, Amanda Lyons (Jeremy), Shane Barmore, and Austin Battcher (Lauren); sisters, Sue Ann Mattingly (Jim), and Mary Carolyn Morgan; brother, Joseph H. Battcher (Mollie); four great-grandchildren; as well as a brother-in-law, George Florence.His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 AM Saturday, December 10, 2016 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, Hikes Lane Campus, 3042 Hikes Lane, with burial to follow in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Mount Washington, KY. Visitation will be 2 – 8 PM Friday, December 9, 2016 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road.Donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society or Hosparus of Louisville in his memory.
