Thomas Ray (T. Ray), 93, passed away Jan. 4, 2007. He was born Oct. 27, 1913 in Terrell, TX to William T. and Robbie Cox. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1972 after 30 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a longtime active member of the Capitol Hill United Methodist Church, but was currently a member of the Trinity Church of the Nazarene. He was a man of many talents. He very much enjoyed music. He sang and played many musical instruments. He also greatly enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting and square dancing. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Sterling D. Cox. He is survived by his wife, Helen Cox, of the home; son, Steve and wife Carolyn Cox of Sachse, TX and their children, Pam and husband Kenny Burge of Sachse, TX, Michael Cox of Tampa, FL; great grandchildren, Amanda, T.J., Abbey, Josh Burge; daughter, Linda and husband Charlie Walker of OKC and their children, Jerri and husband Wray Smith of Moore, OK, Joe and Cristen Walker of Boise, ID; great grandchildren, Amy and Caleb Smith, Sandy and Charles Walker; and 2 stepdaughters, Sue and husband Gregory Bunk of Kingwood, TX, LaQuetta and husband Ed Siebert of Marion, KS. Services will be 10:00 AM Monday at Vondel Smith South Colonial Chapel with interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
